Removing the Outter Door Panel

Outter Door panel

This explains how to remove the outter door panel:

 

1 - Remove Philips the 3 screws from front rubber corner

 

2 - Disconect the Power Mirror Connector

 

3 - The mirror can be removed by removing the 2 highlited Nuts (Note, there is an alternate method of removing the mirror, the nuts will be easier to remove if the "Inner Dew Wipe" is removed FIRST, follow the next 3 steps to remove the Inner Dew Wipe.)

 

4 - Remove all 4 Philips screws from the bracket

       

 

5 - Remove the Inner Dew Wipe Bracket

 

6 - Remove the Inner Dew Wipe (Just pull it up)

 

7 - The mirror can now be easilly removed by removing the 2 Nuts

 

8 - Pull the mirror out, be carefull with the Power Mirror wires

 

9 - Remove the Mirror's outer rubber trim

 

10 - To Remove the Outter Door Panel, remove the 4 rivets at the bottom of the door

       

 

10a - Use a 4 inch nail and a hammer to punch out the center of the rivets

 

10b - Then you can easily remove the plastic rivet

 

11 - Remove the 4 Rear Torx screws at the rear of the door

 

12 - Remove the 3 Front Torx screws at the front of the door

 

13 - In the door opening where you can see the handdle bracket (from the inside) turn the retainer clip 1/4 of a turn (90 degrees) either way

There is also an alternate method to removing the door skin. Pull the door trim loose from step 24 and use a key to loosen the screw

 

14 - Pull open the "BOTTOM" of the door panel (sideways), from the rear of the door, unclip the plastic handle arm retainer

 

15 - Pull the door rod towards the back to remove it, also remove the door lock clip and disconect the rod

 

16 - Pull the bottom of the door outwards about 10cm (6 inch), push the door panel upwards to "unhook" it at the top
